Overview
The official Nintendo GameCube Controller Adapter connects up to 4 original GameCube controllers via USB. Originally released for Wii U Super Smash Bros., it's also compatible with Switch.
History
Released in November 2014 alongside Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, this adapter brought original GameCube controllers to modern consoles. It became essential for competitive Smash Bros. play and was later supported by the Nintendo Switch. Third-party clones by Mayflash and others are also widely used.
