Overview
Google's Wi-Fi-enabled controller built for the Stadia streaming service. After Stadia shut down, a firmware update enabled Bluetooth HID mode.
History
Launched in November 2019 with Google Stadia, this controller originally connected via Wi-Fi directly to Stadia servers. When Stadia shut down in January 2023, Google released a Bluetooth firmware update, making it a surprisingly capable standard gamepad. Its premium build quality and low price on the secondary market made it a favorite among retro gaming enthusiasts.
