Overview

The original Xbox controller, nicknamed 'The Duke', was one of the largest controllers ever made. It was replaced in most markets by the smaller Controller S but remained iconic.

History

Released with the original Xbox in November 2001, the Duke was quickly criticized for its massive size. Microsoft released the smaller Controller S in 2002, which became the standard. Hyperkin produced a modern USB replica in 2018. The controller used a proprietary breakaway USB connector.
